Oslo is a city with a limited amount of schools that have English as the primary language of instruction intended for children in primary school age. By offering an international education, NLIS wants to contribute to the society.
Northern Lights International School is a newly established non-profit school in Oslo, that started education in August 17th, 2015. The school is located in Skådalen, click here to for details.
The school opened its doors to 1st to 5th grades in the first year. Each year new grades will be added so that after five years it will be covering 10th grades’ students. In the current school year (2017/2018) grades from 1 to 7 is available.
The school implements the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) and Middle Years Program (MYP). The section of PYP at NLIS is currently authorized as an IB World school. The school is also an IB MYP candidate school working to become a fully authorized IB world school.
