At NLIS, we believe in making students responsible for their own learning. Many students like the concept of responsibility when they are entitled to take it. Our MYP students have started to take the ownership of PYP classrooms during the community hours every Thursday.
These students choose their own topic, prepare a lesson on the same and help the younger students with their learning. This hour also promotes positive psychosocial environment in the school. It helps these students not only to become independent but also understand how teaching and learning go hand in hand. The students have been observed to carry learning from their classroom to the other classrooms. They follow various techniques of grouping and regrouping with their individual groups. It further helps them to work on their critical as well as creative thinking skills and presentation skills.
It trains them to work on self management skills finally developing great thinkers and communicators of the future.
