Grade 3 students at NLIS have been exploring about the choices people make affect their health and well-being. As a part of their classroom engagements, the students got a change to sort out the food items according to the nutrients in them. They discussed with each other their understanding about these food items. It was interesting to see them reading the labels and trying to find answers to their own questions. Finally they created their own balanced meal.
Taking their learning further, the students also did a yoga session and meditation. We want our students to understand the importance of balancing different phases of lives; be it physical, intellectual or emotional. This makes students empowered enough to take care of themselves. It also helps them to stay positive and understand the meaning of making right choices for our own well being. It is a pride to see these students learning who they are and what it means to be a human.
